Description

This was another test image that I took using the Apex-L FR with my Esprit100. When I took the data I was more concerned about how the stars looked out at the outer edges rather then how the core was or resolving the core/trapezium. That said I decided to process the image fully knowing I'd never get the core to be the way I'd like it to so in the end this is what I got. All in all I like what I have other then the core being blown out and the outer most edges of the stars.
I processed all the data shot with my L-Pro filter in APP, then extracted the Ha channel and combined them in PI. I really do like the structure around the outer part of M42 that the Ha channel pulled out.
Once I get a new camera I'll revisit this object to get  my best M42 I can with the much shorter exposures that are needed to pull the core details.
